Biking in Ayutthaya

On Sunday...Ying and her friend, Christian and I went to Ayutthaya for city tour. And now I'm going to tell you about our trip.

From Bangkok, take a minibus from Victory Monument (60 baht each) for about 1.5 hours. When you arrive, don't listen to any guy who approach to you and offer you any service, walk down the road and you will see many bicycles parked there. Rent one of them (30 baht for Thai, 50 baht for foreigner) with a map, then you can start exploring this old capital city on your own.

First stop, What Maha that opposite is Wat Ratchaburana...you can go inside the ruined temples (normally Thai pay 10 baht and 30 baht for Foreigner, but yestesday was special, we didn't have to pay. It's all free), I took so many pictures from the first temple, them we we moved to another ruined temples, I got bored...

Well....The reason is it was really really hot yesterday and it's dehydrating... The scene and temples are very nice, and knowing a little about Thai history makes it more interesting. But the climate was bad... too hot.

We decided to go to Elephant camp and locked ourselves in A/C giftshop for awhile(and bought nothing) before Christian jumped on the elephant and walked away. Ying and I had around 30 minutes to rest under the shade and relaxed.

30 minutes was very short, we had to get on our bike and went to pick Christian from elephant. Then we moved to another temple...the big sleeping buddha statue. Then I decided that we should go back to Bangkok.

Get on the minibus back to Bangkok (another 60 baht each), I fell asleep before the wheel turning. We arrived Bangkok around 7.30 PM. I was exhausted..but I still had to watch TV, following the result of Thailand general election.

I went to bed around 1.30 AM...
I was woken up by sms, news service, at 3.42 AM....and couldn't get back to sleep but tried to.
At 5.30 AM, my boss texted me telling me to go to office at 7 AM. I woke up, took a shower, got dressed and jumped on motorbike...

I'm dying... sleepy...
I will post pictures tonight after listening to Simple American's voice post. Now... I'll go to my dreamland...(with my aching butt)
