As I asked for this interview, here are the 5 questions from Simple American
1. What led you to choose the media as a career?
I work for media because I've studied in media and it's the only thing I can do now, I guess. I could track back to what led me choosing media(Communication Arts) as my faculty in university...The real reason that I put myself in this field because it was the most popular and the coolest faculty to be in at that time. It needed very high scores from Entrance exam. So it's to prove that you're good enough to get into the most famous faculty in the most famous university in Thailand. And I did make it. I was one of Chulalongkorn University Faculty of Communication arts students. That is the path to my career...
At the end of 4th term, I had to make another choice. To choose my major from Public Relations, Advertising, Speech & Performance, Broadcasting, Film & Photography, Journalism, I chose Broadcasting...because I'm not pretty enough to be a PR, I'm not good in marketing to do advertising, I don't like to speak and perform, I didn't want to be a journalist and I chose Film & Photography as my minor.
4 years in university, I've learned a lot. I decided to make media as my career, I loved it, I enjoyed doing it. I remember I told my teacher that I don't want to be a journalist when I accidently got highest scores on Radio/TV news class!!! But I end up being a TV journalist anyway!!! the only one word to say... It's "Destiny"
2. What is the most dangerous happening of your life?
I've not been through many dangerous situations I think... The only thing I can think of for now is when I went on vacation with my highschool friends, we split into 6 small long-tail boats, 5 people each (3 girls and 2 boys in our boat).
We're supposed to go to small islands near Phi Phi islands for snorkeling trip, but the sea was rough, high waves... I remember our boat was the leading boat, as the sea was really rough...I didn't see anything much...but I felt that our boat was flying on every single wave. I closed my eyes...I was so scared... I tried to look for other boats..no boat following us... The other boats decided not to go... They all said it's too dangerous, they turned back to Phi Phi Island.
After 30 minutes (but it was like ages for me), we arrived at the spot...safely. It's the best spot to see coral reefs... so we looked for snorkel gears... we couldn't find them, because they were on the other boat!!! Fuck!!!
Well...we had to stay there on that island until the tide was low and the sea was a little calm... before heading back to Phi Phi without seeing any coral reefs. I found out later from our boat driver that... He wanted to turn back too but it's not possible for him to do. The waves were to high and the sea was too rough for him to make the turn... He said he gotta go straight up only!! He was so scared too!!!
3. Where do you want to visit the most if money is no object and who (only one choice) will you take with you?
I want to travel the world with my mom. Anywhere she wants to go, I will bring her there.
4. What is your dream job?
I want to be like Ian Wright in Lonely Planet...but I will do the photography too! Get paid to travel to all exotic places in the world. Isn't that cool?
5. A seedy individual offers you US$10,000,000 if you destroy exclusive footage of an atrocity. Would you?
I would not. I would try to find how to keep the footage and to get the money though...That's what I would do. Heee...
